Kristin Kelly Javier is based in the Hudson Valley of New York and the Rio Grande Valley of Northern New Mexico.

Born in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky, of Irish and Italian roots, young Kristin was happiest running barefoot in the yard, digging fossils in the creek bed, hiking in the woods, riding the neighbors' horses, and watching cloud shapes swirl across the sky. As a grown up, she spent her first career as a Teacher and Translator of Spanish and Italian and then an Advocate for Immigrant Communities.

Kristin began as a self-taught Mosaic Artist, glazing, firing, and breaking tiles to create bistro tables for family members. Subsequent trainings in Mosaic include an intensive Roman/Byzantine study in Ravenna Italy, as well as continuing education in Classical and Contemporary methods through the Chicago Mosaic School. One of her greatest honors has been to translate for Maestro Verdiano Marzi.

In the past two years, Kristin has become enamored of Red Clay Sculpture, drawn to its primal origin and organic texture. Her creative practice was born through intensive studies with Debra Fritts in Abiquiú, New Mexico, and Dana Parlier in Ardsley, New York. She is captivated by both Mosaic and Sculpture for their echoes through human history, contemplative rhythms, and limitless possibilities.
