Inspired Mosaic & Sculpture
I believe that our Internal Landscapes are connected to the External Landscapes that we visit and inhabit. I am inspired to work meditatively, in response to materials, color, and light that speak the languages of emotion and spirit.
In Mosaic Art, I am drawn to natural elements like minerals and metals, as well as manmade materials like glass and found objects. I am dedicated to painstaking traditional craftsmanship with hand tools, while employing both classical and contemporary methods.
Through Sculpture, I begin with a block of red earthen clay and translate it through my imagination, using personally significant symbols of deconstruction and restoration.
Seven years ago, a devastating neurological illness set me onto a new life path toward Fine Art. Through my work, I attempt to capture a glimpse of the light each one of us holds inside.
